To apply for Social Security online, you want to have all the information you need at your fingertips before you log into your account.

So what information is that, and what steps must you take?

First, you’ll need to log in or create an account at mySocialSecurity. To create an account, the Social Security Administration will ask you a series of questions for verification. Among other things, you should have the following ready: your mobile phone, a credit card, a W-2, and your tax forms.

Once you have a mySocialSecurity account, you can then begin applying for your retirement and spousal benefits. You’ll need:

Date and place of birth: If you were born outside the U.S. or its territories, you’ll need the name of your birth country at the time of your birth and, if you’re not a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident card number.

Remove Personal Security (Uninstall Guide)

angel may

Personal Security is a rogue anti-spyware program from the
same family as Cyber
. This program is promoted through the use of malware that will
install it on your computer without your permission. In order to protect itself,
this program will automatically attempt to terminate security programs that
may help to remove it. When installed, Personal Security will be configured
to start automatically when Windows starts. Once started, it will scan your
computer and display a variety of infections, but will state that it will not
remove them unless you first purchase the program. In reality, the infections
it finds are either fake or legitimate programs that if deleted could cause
problems with the proper operation of Windows. Therefore, please do not act
upon any of the files it states are infections.

Personal Security also employs numerous methods where it tries to trick you
into thinking you are infected.

I cannot think of any pros for Avira.

For the Windows operating system use Windows Defender which is the built in anti-virus program. Avira is advertised to speed up the boot time of a computer. It did not work and spent a lot of time optimizing my computer and multiple restarts.

Update Your Software. Keep your software – including your operating system, the web browsers you use to connect to the Internet, and your apps – up to date to protect against the latest threats. Most software can update automatically, so make sure to set yours to do so.

Outdated software is easier for criminals to break into. If you think you have a virus or bad software on your computer, check out how to detect and get rid of malware.

Protect Your Personal Information. Don’t hand it out to just anyone. Your Social Security number, credit card numbers, and bank and utility account numbers can be
